Chapter Thirty Seven
Cannon felt the soft feeling of a mattress underneath him. As he opened his eyes, his entire body was sore from what it had been through. As his vision cleared he saw that he was in the Tokage clinic, which meant someone got him back to the camp. Before he could grasp his surroundings he felt the immediate embrace that was very familiar now.
"CANNON! Ah! You're up, you're up!" Bella said as she wrapped his arms around his neck.

He smiled, laughing and ignoring how much the embrace made his sore body hurt. "Good to see you too Bella!"
-
"You like, totally collapsed back there!" Bella told him.
-
"Heh... Called it." He joked as he hugged her back.
-
Bella let him go which allowed him to look around the wood made room. He was in the only bed and the door was ahead of him. "But...we totally did it!!!" Bella told him. "Right after you collapsed, Dad and Halt immediately signed a peace treaty! The war is over!"
-
Cannon smiled wider, leaning back in his bed. "That's great! I'm glad that's over."
-
"I am too!" Bella told Cannon. "Of course, it couldn't have happened with out you. No WAY dad would have been able to convince those guys of anything! Speaking of which, I still need to talk to him about some...decisions...he's made."
-
"Yeah... I'm sorry you had to find out about all this." He sighed.
-
"Well I was gunna find out eventually! You know me after all!" Bella told him.
-
"Detective Bella allways cracks the case, dosent she?" He joked, booping her on the nose.
-
"Yes! That I do! That I do! And every good detective case needs a fantastic resolution!" She told Can as she grabbed his hand and started pulling him up. "Come on! You've been in bed long enough! Everyone's waiting to see you!" Bella told him. As she pulled his right hand, he was significantly less sore than he was back at the Grenwald city. That being said, he was still sore.
-
"Alright... Alright... I'm up." He pretended to be reluctant as he got up and followed.
-
Can had realized that he was no longer dressed in his Tokage attire. Rather, he had been dressed in his covert disguise when he had arrived. The simple shepards clothing that he had once thought a clever disguise. In reality, it had been useful.
-
In all honsety, it was very scratchy, itchy, and uncomfortable and he would have greatly prefered just a tunic and cloak of any random color. Oh well. I've had worse. He decided to ignore it.
-
"Well? Are you coming or what?!" Bella asked him as she started to pull his hand towards the door.
-
"Yeah, I'm coming." He smiled, still wishing he had something more comfortable to wear. The material was scratching against his bandages and making his wounds feel worse. He followed after Bella.
-
Bella opened the door, and the light from outside almost blinded Can but his eyes quickly adjusted. As he walked down the steps of the clinic, he saw the Tokage village. But now, there were not just Tokage here. Grenwalds had come to the area too, and they walked around looking at the sights. The Tokage seemed to be generally hospitable to the newcomers, but Cannon noticed a few groups of Grenwalds that stuck together and avoided the paths of the Tokage people.

-
"Oh, you know..." Bella started and then she mumbled something Cannon couldn't hear.
-
"What was that?" He requested.
-
"What? Oh...you've been out for like...two...ish...days...."
-
"Alright, that's not too bad." He sighed. "My daughter's probably worried sick about me."
-
"What?! You never told me you had a daughter!" Bella exclaimed. "Then again, I guess you didn't tell me a lot of things. Ah well."
-
"Yeah, I have a daughter. Her name's Traci. One of the nicest people I've ever known." He smiled at the thought, though it was quickly replaced by a small frown.
-
"Great! Then...oh." Bella stopped herself. "I...I guess that means you have to go back to the dojo then...right?" She asked Cannon. She looked glumly up at him as she did.
-
"It does." He sighed. "I'll be sure to visit, though. Maybe I'll be able to bring Traci along, bet you two would be great friends."
