Assassination
Fortis woke up, lightheaded, in a dark and damp room. Judging from the rock formations around him, he was in a deep cave. A small note layer next to him, which read;
'Got your mind back for you, but you owe me a favor. Come out of the cave when you are ready.'
Fortis read the note and hurried out of the cave. While there was virtually no light in the cave, there was tons of radiation, and Fortis just used infrared lenses to navigate through the cave. When he arrived on the surface, which was about a mile away from the dojo, he found another note.
'Assassinate the warriors of the dojo.'
"Well shit, why couldn't it be something like 'go shop for groceries' or something?" Fortis asked himself. Another note fabricated in front of him. On a normal day, Fortis would have been shocked or amazed or curious, but this wasn't a normal day.
'Do it, or I will take back your mind. Also, you may need this...'
Along with the note, a strange sword appeared. It was abnormally long and thing for a sword. One half of it was red, and the other half was black. It didn't even have a cross guard, and the handle was simply a cylinder.
"How is this supposed to help?" Fortis asked. Unfortunately, no more notes came. He strode into town reluctantly, taking out his old sword and shield instead of using the new sword he had been given. He was having second thoughts on doing what the note said, when another one fabricated in front of him.
'Oh, and on top of taking your mind away, I will personally obliterate you and your fleet if you don't comply.'
The task Fortis had been given suddenly seemed much more appealing, and he rushed into town with double speed.
Open, fight Fortis or try to reason with him.
Fortis happened to run into a particular man, who seemed slightly surprised at the sudden impact and was thrown onto the ground. As he got up, it transpired he had a series of spheres and cylinders on his belt. "What are you running about for?"
-
The Dreadful One, cloaked in a black hood that brought out the orange in his eyes, stared at the man in curiosity "And what is it do you think your doing?"
-
Who is the dreadful one?
"I am faced with a bit of a conundrum." Fortis replied.
-
One of my characters, cloaked in a black hood at a height of 6"2. It is rumored that he is some sort of god, but no one truly knows...
"Of what sort? Sounds to me your under a certain degree of pressure."
-
"Indeed I am, and I apologize for anything I do in advance." Fortis lunges with his sword at the man.
-
The Dreadful One raised his hand, sending out a resonating wave of energy that sent Fortis hurtling back onto the ground. His eyes glowed with power "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
-
"I don't really have much of a choice." Fortis flew up in the air and launched a volley of missiles at the man.
-
The Dreadful One simply vanished, appearing behind him in an instant. "Please, this doesn't have to end in violence."
-
"Well, it kind of does. I am willing to talk about my conundrum before we fight if you wish."
-
"Alright, fair enough. At least your reasonable. Let's hear it."
-
"I was given the task to kill any warrior in the dojo. If I comply, I will probably die, and cause the deaths of others. If I don't comply, though, the one who gave me this task will kill me and my army."
-
"Hmm. That's... interesting. Do you happen to know anything about the one who demands this of you?"
-
"I have never seen or spoken to him, but he must be quite powerful."

Edited by Wheatley: 5/26/2017 4:48:48 AM"I see. If you needed my help, I could probably be able to hunt down this person and their associates within a few days, but I'm guessing you don't have that kind of time."
-
"Not only do I not have the time, I doubt it could be done. I have no idea where this persons location is, or how I can find him."
-
"I have some tricks I could pull, some things I could do, but it wouldn't be fast enough would it?"
-
"No, because by the time he realizes that someone is tracking him, my army would probably already be gone."
-
"Damn. I guess there's no way to really win in this scenario, is there?"
-
"Nope. Now then, shall we carry on?"
-
"I suppose. Just out of curiosity, would you prefer me as I am now or as... well... you'll see soon enough."
-
"It was nice talking with you, but I must carry on." Fortis draws his rifle and opens fire on the man.
-
He vanished, leaving Fortis alone for only one moment. Suddenly, a sense of dread entered the air and a vicious storm grew overhead You do not realize what you have done. At a height of 10 feet, a man clad in an ornate suit of black armor manifested from thin air. He carried a sword that pulsed with corrupted shadows. The very space around him glowed with a mixture of darkness and fire
-
Hey, they are the same height now
"Oh boy." Fortis said. He pulled out a rocket launcher and fired upon the man.
-
Instead of teleporting, he simply raised his hand and closed it, causing the projectile to explode mid-air. Conventional weaponry of this nature is useless against me. You can do nothing but hurt yourself.
-
"Guess I will have to use some unconventional methods, then." Puts away his guns and brings out both his original sword and the sword that he had been given. He flew at the man and tried to stab him with both.
