He wetted his lips nervously before replying: "I want to be something more than a shepherd, if you understand my meaning." He replied, attempting to sound a bit on the excited side.

  • "Ya! But actually he uses like...really powerful fire!" She said as she lead Can to the only different looking building. It was made of stone and heat emitted from it. "Here we are!" She said. The building really was just a square with a roof. It had a wood door, however.

  • Cannon looked the building over. "Huh. There isn't anything like this where I'm from." He commented.

  • "Well maybe that's because you are not from here!" Bella replied to him wittily as she walked up the stairs, holding his wrist.

  • He followed, laughing a bit. "That's very true." He agreed with her.

  • She opened the door, and Can was hit with a heatwave. As Bella walked in, as well as Can, he was able to get a look of the place. It...wasn't what he was expecting. The steelworks had tools. Power tools. There were drill presses and lathes and plasma cutters. It was a set up he wouldn't have seen in a place like he was in. There was a large, muscular tanned man with no hair working on a blade. He had it red hot and was hammering it. He hadn't noticed the two walk in. "Hello welter!" Bella greeted. Though, he didn't reply. "Welter?" She asked again. "WELTER!!!!!" "HOLY SHIT!" The man yelled as he jumped up from where he was standing and tossed the red hot tang up. The hot metal landed on the stone paved floor and he rubbed his face in annoyance. "Hello Bella...." he said to her. "Who's this?" He asked Can.

  • "My name is Canderouse, I'm new around here." Cannon replied, offering a hand to shake.

  • The man walked around one of the work benches he stood at. There were two in the room. He took Can's hand and shook it with a death grip. "Aye Canderouse. That's a weird fu-I mean that's an interesting name." Welters commented. He seemed to stop himself from saying something else.

  • Cannon returned the deathgrip before releasing his hand. "It's a fairly common name where I'm from."

  • "And where do you come from?" The man asked him bluntly as he picked the steel off the floor and put it back on the bench. "He's a Shepard! Like the guys that take care of sheep!" Bella stated. "Wow?! Really?!" The man said sarcastically. Bella pouted at the man's reaction. "Seriously though. Where you from? Same place that whor-I mean that woman came from? Diana?"

  • "Thankfully not. I came from the mountains to the south eats of the forest. Had a flock down there until the freaks in green decided thry wanted my sheep." Cannon replied with a laugh, noting how people around here don't seem to like Diana.

  • "Ha! Those damned Grenwalds. We'll take em out soon enough. Though I wish that damned woman wasn't here. She's been sending us out into the world to kidnap people or something! Crazy shi-I mean stuff!" "Wait what?" Bella asked. "Oh....sorry Bella. I know she's uh...close with your father and..." "Don't apologize. I don't have the strongest feeling about her either." "Good! A daughter ought to stay loyal to her mother!" Welters told her. "Ya..." Bella said as she trailed off and looked around the steelworks. Welter turned his head to Can. "Anyways! We gotta get you set up I would say. We may have a treaty to not be able to use guns and the like, but there's nothing in there saying we can't make the greatest swords and bow and arrows imaginable. I normally have to make weapons to suit, but I like you. So, you got any preference? Bow and blade wise?"

  • "I used to use a recurve bow for wolf hunting, or maybe a compound bow..." He said, looking around the shop.

  • "There's a big difference between a compound and a recurve buddy." Welters told him. "A compound bow is slower, smaller, and has a larger draw weight as well as cams. Where as the recurve is bigger, faster, and has less draw weight. Keep in mind we ain't shooting ducks, you'll be shooting people when the time comes." The smith told him grimly.

"I'd prefer a compound. Easier to keep drawn." Cannon decided. "What's the heaviest draw you have?"

"About 200 pounds." The man told him as he walked to the back. Can noticed he had many bows hanging low on the back wall. "This thing is meant for killing bears though, not people. That being said it'll shoot right through a person if they ain't wearing armour. And they won't, I can guarantee that." He picked up a small, dark purple compound bow. It had a circular sight attached to its sight window and above the nock that was made of steel and jutted out from the bow. It had large Cam's on its risers which were connected together with black cables, while the bow string was actually a dark purple. "Think you can handle this thing? It's a step up from whatever you were using before that's for sure. I'd recommend something lighter, personally. It'll take slower to draw with this even though you can keep aimed for longer."

  • "I can handle it. I used a 180 pound bow back in the mountains to deal with small bears and large wolves." He replied.

  • "You used a 180 pound recurve bow?" The man asked him with a raised eyebrow. He asked him skeptically.

  • "What, never heard of an ironwood bow?" Cannon replied, smirking.

  • "Never heard of an ironwood tree, so I don't think there's an ironwood bow." The man said. He remained skeptical but he waved his hand in dismissal. "Whatever. I don't know if your a pompous pri-I mean person. Or what. Either way, try drawing this." Welters told him as he handed him the bow.

  • Cannon lifted the bow and drew it back with a little bit of visible effor to hide his augmentations. "I like this."

  • The bowstring snapped back smoothly and easily to Can's cheek. It was significantly easier to hold now that he pulled through the weight of it. "Whoa!" Bella exclaimed. "You just pulled back two hundred pounds! That's like...pulling back a welter in weight!" Welter looked at the girl ad raised an eyebrow. She looked at the large man then paced away whistling awkwardly. "Uh-huh. Right. Consider it yours then." Welters put simply.

  • "Thank you." Cannon slung the bow over his shoulder and looked over at the melee weapons.

  • They hung on the wall to his right. They were mainly short swords, none of them had guards. The blades were long and pyramid shaped, of the sides of the pyramid were stretched out and the top was as well. They all looked very alike. "Ya. The blades are where you gotta get uniform unfortunately." The smith said. "If everyone knows how one blade works, everyone can teach someone else how to use it."

  • Cannon picked up one of the swords, testing it's balance. "I'll admit I'm not much with a sword, I allways used a hunting knife and bow." He admitted.

  • "A knife?" The man asked. "Hold on." Welters went to his workbench and opened a drawer. He took out a thin black box, but he also took out a knife. The blade was curved and short. It looked like it could tear into something if it were to stab something. The grip looked like a pair of brass knuckles and faced outwards, opposite of the curved blade. "How about this?" He said as he tossed Can the knife.
