Chapter Twelve
Cannon felt himself take every step through the woods. The bag over his head made his vision dark. Every crunch of a leaf or every brush through the grass was all he heard to figure out where he was. Then, he hears voices. He felt himself step on something hard now. It was rough. Not wood, however, for his feet made a pat! sound with every step. He heard more and more people bustling about, but then also awkward cut offs and silences as he got closer to their sources. The ground he stepped on was bumpy and there was a crunch! as he walked across what sounded to be a large gathering of people. Then, he heard a door open in front of him, and he was escorted into some form of building. Now is feet made a Tut! tut! sound with every step as he walked across a smoothed floor. He heard another door open in front of him. This one sounded much larger then the last. He was pulled further ahead, until finally the archers who escorted him took off his hood.
The room he was in was massive. The floor he stood on was made of large grey brick, and there were waterfalls on the sides of cave looking walls that dripped down into large basins that drained into small fountains. Ahead of him was a large wide staircase that went up until it became flat, where there was more brick floor, some form of table that looked like an altar, then a massive waterfall that fell down the back wall and revealed the light of the outside that came through.
"Sorry if that was a little tense there Can!" The archer apologized to Cannon, who now went under a different alias that still allowed him to be called Can for short. "Ulfric will be here in a moment. He's our leader."

"Do you allways happen to have a bag just in case you meet people, or was I just lucky?" He asked, a bit of his usual sarcasm seeping into his fake persona.
-
"Hmmm? Oh, ya, we always have the bag." The archer told him. He didn't seem to pick up on the sarcasm.

-
"Oh, here's Ulfric now!" The archer said as he pointed up. On top of the stairs, a man walked across the flat ground. He walked slowly and he was composed well. He was average in his height, at least that's what Can saw as he blood red cloaked figure with a baggy hood on. He turned to Can, then began to walk down the stairs slowly. Eventually he reached the bottom, then walked towards Can. He reached to his hood and pulled it off, which revealed his face. He had short black and shaggy hair. He had a five a'clock shadow of a beard on his face and his eyes were a dark brown. He had a scar across his cheek, and his mouth was small on his face. He seemed angry, at first. But then he embraced Can out of no where. "Welcome to this place!" He said to Can in a low voice.
-
Cannon bowed his head politely. "Thank you, sir. Though I am not yet sure where 'this place' is." He replied, mentally assessing the man's threat level.
-
The red cloaked man let go of Can and eyed him up and down. "What's your name, sir?" He asked with a smile. He seemed incredibly friendly. Can noticed that he had two large knives on the right of his hip and then a long sword on his left side. The sheath was adorned with an illustration of a purple dragon on its black sheathe.
-
"Canderouse, sir. Canderouse the Shepherd." Cannon replied, attempting to appear nervous at being in the presence of a man of supposed suppior social status. In his mind he had already formed a dozen plans for how to kill everyone in the room should he have to.
-
"Canderouse? Eh? What an interesting name." He commented. "I am Ulfric Tokage, leader of the Tokage clan. I must ask you, Canderouse, what are your intentions here?" Ulfric asked him.
-
He wetted his lips nervously before replying: "I want to be something more than a shepherd, if you understand my meaning." He replied, attempting to sound a bit on the excited side.
-
"Yes, well I would suppose a lot of people would like to be more then a Shepard!" Ulfric told him. "And...this is not to be taken lightly, Canderouse. As soon as you are one with us, with Majora our God, you are with us for good. You will eat our food, share our drink, wear our clothes and worship OUR god Majora. You will have to leave everything behind. So you should be sure that you TRULY want this." Ulfric came off to Can as...well, rather kind actually. Ulfric seemed to truly care for the man in front of him, which was strange since the two were a little more than strangers.
-
"I understand, sir." He replied, looking earnest. In reality he was almost laughing at how stupid these people were.
-
"Ah. Good. Then from here on out, you are an initiate of the Tokage clan! Welcome. Benjamin here can get your properly outfitted. From there, you can get acquainted with the town for a day. Then tomorrow, you will begin your training."
-
Cannon nodded reverently. "Thank you, sir! This means a lot to me." He said, smiling widely. Maybe thisbwould be easier than he thought....
-
"Trust me. You joining us makes me happier then you are right now!" The Tokage said. "Ulfric, dear, who is this?" Suddenly said a feminine voice. She walked out onto the top of the stairs from a side door. She wore a white leather trench coat that hugged her tall and curvaceous body. It was open which revealed her also black leather corset underneath, which provided maybe a little too much cleavage for casual wear. She wore black leather pants, and finally tall black stiletto boots that elevated her already tall height. She had a pale face and blue eyes with ashen hair that was curled around her right shoulder. "A new recruit!" Ulfric exclaimed as he walked up the stairs and offered his hand to the woman. She took it, and the man escorted her down the steps where she couldn't take her blue eyes off of Can. "My, my. A new recruit? How often do you get one of those?" She asked him rhetorically as she approached Can, a hand extended. "Hello, love. Now who would you be?" She asked him with a closed lip smile.
-
Cannon bowed slightly, seemingly not knowing what the proper etiquette eould be. "My name is Canderouse, madame." He said.
-
She clenched her hand that she had offered to him, and awkwardly placed it at her side. "Ah. Well, it is a pleasure to meet you, Canderouse. I am Diana." She said.
-
Edited by Cannon011: 4/21/2017 9:43:05 PMHe keept his head bowed for a few more seconds before raising it again. "I apologize if I am awkward, I was but a dhepherd before I arrived and don't know the proper... Protocol." He said apologetically.
-
"Oh, haha! My goodness you are adorable!" Diana said dotingly as she pinched Can's cheek. "Okay Diana. Let's not get carried away..." Ulfric said to her. "Oh, I am sorry, love." Diana apologized. "Anyways, Canny, I suppose you will be off?"
-
Cannon shrugged. "I believe so. I'm heading to... Training?" He looked towards Ulfric and Benjamin(?). He doubted he could kill his target just yet, so he'd bide his time.
-
"Oh no! No, training starts tomorrow. You should get acquainted with the town first!" Ulfric said to him. "After you get your proper attire on, that is. Benjamin! Take him to the outfitter!" "Yes sir." Benjamin replied as he lightly grabbed Can by his shoulder. "C'mon you."
-
Cannon followed him, smiling slightly at the prospect of getting a set of more comfortable clothes than his scratchy disguise, and from his enemies no less.
-
Ben walked him back through the exit where Diana called after him. "Pleasure meeting you, Canny!" She said as he was escorted out through the long hallway past the large steel door that was the entrance to the room. There was another door ahead, this one was smaller. Ben walked Can down to it and then opened it for him. "After you." Ben offered Can.
