[b]Fortis's operation had been met with relative success thus far. They had reached the city with minimal casualties, and quickly. But, everyone was doing their own thing. Tubbs was plotting some rebellion against Fortis. Q was no where to be seen. False was in the bazaar buying fancy electronics. The only one who was on task was Royal, who was off trying to find this mysterious hero who would forge the sacred sword.[/b]

"Ok, the ship is right over there. It works almost like a video game, except faster and more explosive." [b]Fortis pointed to a larger than normal fighter, with a strange triangular node jutting out of the bottom.[/b]

"Sounds good." [i]I would run, now. One of them is equipped with a machine gun, another a rocket launcher, last with a shotgun. All heavily armored. They've spotted us. [/i] "Ok." [b]Rook starts running for the ship. Firing a few shots at the three men.[/b]

[b]Fortis lunges at one, using his wings' thrusters to gain extra speed, and throws him at the other two.[/b]

[b]The three quickly get up. One aiming his machine gun at Fortis. The other's aiming for Rook.[/b] [b][i]"We're not here to kill you. Only to kill the traitor."[/i][/b] [u][i]"Sir, I've got a clear shot."[/i][/u] [b][i]"Take it."[/i][/b]

"No one kills Rook without my consent. Why don't you three put your big boy pants on and talk about this like intelligent adults?"

[b]One of the soldiers takes a shot at Rook, hitting him in the leg. Rook falls to the ground.[/b] "Holy shit how are you THAT bad at shooting!" [b][i]"Listen, before Rook came to the dojo he commited a number of crimes. Illegal gun dealing to terrorists, theft of a drop ship, stealing and giving top secret info to our enemy, countless murders, illegally skipping mental health evaluations, and many counts of military property theft."[/i][/b]

"Words don't mean anything. If you have proof, then I will be glad to listen to you. But for the time being, you just shot a friend of mine and have given me no credible explanation for doing so. If you don't get that evidence, I will personally kill you."

[b]One of them hands you a file. Inside are photos of Rook caught commiting each crime listed.[/b] [b][i]"Now, does this clear our case?"[/i][/b]

"Well, this is interesting. Rook, why did you do this?"

"Hey man, nothing much to do in that shitty army, losing war anyway, did you all a favor, please, don't let them take me back." [b][i]"Don't listen to him. His mind is unstable. We'll make sure he makes it back in one piece."[/i][/b]

"So, you were bored and this led you to kill someone. Got it." [b]Fortis said to Rook. He then turned to the mercenaries.[/b] "I don't trust that you will do that. After all, you just shot the man."

"In all fairness the only people I killed were gun dealers." [b][i]"Listen, we're not going to kill him. We just want to make sure he pays for his crimes."[/i][/b] [b]A voice can be heard on one of the mercenaries comm channels out loud.[/b] [b][u]"Hey, have you captured Rook yet? I didn't hire you to waste time!"[/u][/b] [b]He quickly scrambles to turn off the comms.[/b]

"Well, why did you kill the gun dealers Rook?"

"He got pissed off at me for failing to deliver a stash of weapons. I drew first and shot him."

"Well, that sounds like it was in self defense. Is he being charged with manslaughter?" [b]Fortis asked the mercenaries.[/b]

[u][i]"Life in prison or the death sentance, depending on what the judge decides."[/i][/u]

"Well, is there any way he could be granted a pardon?"

"Fortis, they're not here for justice, they're only here to kill me and collect a paycheck. Please, help me, I can help you in return." [b]One of the mercenaries aims his rifle at Rook's head. Ready to silence him.[/b]

"Well, your offer seems very tempting, but..." [b]Fortis slams the ground and send the three tumbling backward. He then orders his soldiers to open fire.[/b]
