Vernon holds his arms in front of his head in order to block the blows, fracturing his forearms in the process of taking heavy hits in such a rapid succession. His stomach however, received no such protection. Once Rhys gave out from exhaustion, Vernon struggled to his knees and puked. "I need to stop eating before these." Vernon then calls Despair back to his hand, and Rage brightens. Vernon then drives Despair into the right shoulder blade of Rhys, almost drunkenly after being disoriented so badly. He then kicks Rhys in the face, hoping to flip him over and cause him to land on the sword.
