Little bit of info on why JT doesn't know what crystallizing really is: His homeland, Cylak, was not the greatest place for education and it wasn't valued highly like physical labour was, so the Cowboy dropped out of high school in grade twelve to support his parents, sister and girlfriend before his exile.
