While Zane is gathering energy, JJ quickly throws up a wall of ash. The beam bursts through it, but the wall dampened the blow minimally. JJ is sent through the side of the kiln, creating a rather large hole. Before any sign of him appears though, Zane forgot to deal with the still living figure that shot him.
While Zane was firing the beam, the figure quickly snuck up on him. The very moment Zane was finished, the figure stuck with a point-blank sniper shot to the left kidney. To any normal man, that shot would've torn off most of his side, and some of his leg as well. And while Zane wasn't a normal man, the shot would still hurt like nothing else. Once the clone shot, its ashen rifle immediately turned into a sword, as it tried to deliver a blow to the spine.
Meanwhile, JJ was clambering back through the hole he made, nursing his wounds by filling them with ash. He was stumbling, but the flame and ash were helping him recover.

The sniper shot sure hurt like hell, and it definitely pissed him off as he quickly turned and grabs the clones head, crushing it. He grunts as he takes his other hand and places it over the wound, stoping the bleeding. "Oh now you've done it...." He dashes over to JJ, delivering a swift kick to his torso.

As the kick lands, a sharp cracking noise can be heard, and JJ kneels on the floor. "Don't like getting shot? Well, I'm sorry, I'll cauterize the wound for you." JJ stuck his left hand out to the side, and closed his fist quickly and tightly. Suddenly, the wounds that Zane had sustained from the ashen figures caught fire. Each hit had left behind a small bit of ash, which JJ could use to ignite nearby material. Just like the old Phoenix's ability to use napalm in someone's wound. The fire burned hotter than any normal flame should, and caused much, [i]much[/i] more pain as a result. The flames were literally beginning to burn Zane from the inside.

He lets out a scream of rage and pain as he falls to the ground next to JJ. His aura flares up, and starts to gather in his core, trying to purge the ash. "Now that's fighting dirty....."

"Welcome to my world..." The ash is quickly forced out, but it still burns Zane as it leaves, causing more damage throughout his body. While Zane is in the middle of that, JJ uses his fire wings to bring himself upright, drawing his sword. Instead of being encased in dark energy, now it was alight with blue flames. He then hastily tries to strike downwards, at Zane's spine, but misses and winds up hitting Zane's right hip instead.

The blade cuts, but not very deep. Zane retaliates by punching JJ right in the gut as he gets up, and flips him over to the ground, cracking it.

JJ hits the ground, groaning. However, the sword is still stuck within Zane's hip. JJ forms another weapon from the massive amount of ash around the arena. A small shotgun with slugs, which he promptly fires into Zane's stomach.

He concentrates his aura to absorb the blast, and he starts to punch JJ in the stomach, cracks forming under the ground from the hits.

While Zane punches, ash flows into JJ's open wounds from hitting the cauldron wall, attempting to piece together whatever internal damage was done, and form a weak wall over where Zane's hitting. While he's doing that, JJ gathers himself, and grabs Zane's head with his open hand. He then hits the barrel of his shotgun against Zane's forehead, holding it there. He then fires the slug at point blank while attempting to squirm free of the blows.

He flys back from the blast, blood dripping from his head as he gets up and rips the sword out of his side. "Man, you're a stubborn bastard....Reminds me of when I fought cobalt long ago. He was the first one to push me to my limits, and forced me to break them.
