JJ sees the flashbang roll in just before it explodes, and only has time to do one thing with his suit. He can block out his visor and protect his eyes, or protect his ears. He opts to protect his eyes, as a shield meant to prevent blinding from sunlight slides over his visor. The flashbang goes off, causing a ringing in JJ's ears and slightly disorienting him as he spins around trying to find Zane.

The EMP goes off, but JJ's suit is mildly hardened. The most it does it take down his missile capabilities, and causes the energy to drop from 100% to 55%, prompting JJ to drop a few layers of armor in order to conserve energy. However, he does catch Zane running up the stairs. JJ fires his charged shot just ahead of Zane, followed by two uncharged shots. They're made up of orange energy.

He stops and turns, flicking his cloak over him. The cloak absorbs the blasts, and he throws out a grenade that lands at JJ's feet, blinking rapidly.

JJ quickly kicks the grenade outside of the tower, thinking fast. JJ then begins to chase Zane up the stairs, since he previous shots simply pushed Zane around a little and bounced off the cloak. So, he energy within the Cannon goes from orange to red as he fires.

He flicks his cloak over him again, and the blast causes it to tear slightly. "Hey, this is my favorite cloak!" He fires armor piercing rounds from his .44, then tosses a Semtex grenade that sticks to JJ's armor, preparing to detonate.

Edited by jj1042: 12/3/2016 8:16:16 PMThe shots from JJ don't bounce off like they did before, however. The shots are plasma, so they stick around and burn the cape for a little bit. The some of the armor piercing rounds miss JJ, others hit. However, they hit in the chestplate and shoulder region, and go down to the final two layers of armor. The Semtex Bomb sticks to JJ's chest, so he disengages the uppermost layer and throws it away. "Where the hell are you pulling all these bombs from!?" JJ continues to chase Zane, but this time not firing. Instead, he charges his cannon for quite a long time. Without all the extra armor on JJ, he's quite a bit faster now, and is beginning to catch up to Zane.

"Sorry, can't share that little secret!" He throws both a smoke and flashbang behind him, the flashbang blinding JJ and the smoke concealing Zane's location. He switches to infrared sight and locates JJ, firing off more Armor piercing rounds as he continues to climb.

"Gah! Seriously, I can't imagine that it'd be light or comfortable!" JJ is blinded, but he continues running as he feels his way along the wall as he goes. The rounds hit in different places in the same region, but one finds its way to a slightly weaker area in JJ's armor, and nearly pierces it fully. It dents the armor bad enough in that spot to cause minor damage to JJ's actual body. Eventually, both Zane and JJ exit the smoke, and JJ has caught up even more, and is nearly upon Zane as his visor clears. For the next couple of minutes, JJ's watching for any more EMPs or flashbangs.

He switches off infrared sight and surprises JJ with a swift uppercut as he exits the smoke, the hit knocking him back a bit.

Edited by jj1042: 12/3/2016 9:09:35 PMWhile the hit does surprise JJ, Zane just punched a helmet filled with metal and technology, so that hurts him somewhat unless he has protection. Nonetheless, JJ still catches up to Zane, and tackles him as they're going up the steps. The strength of the suit makes it especially hard for Zane to get up as JJ tries to get closer to Zane's head and gun. JJ does keep his head down though, avoiding a shot to the face if he can't block Zane's shot in time.

He grins as he reaches for his side pocket, pulling out a small ball as he sticks it to JJ and kicks him off of him, throwing a smoke and emp grenade as he runs to the steps. "Hope you like Barbecue!"

The EMP further lowers JJ's suit capabilities to the bare minimum, pretty much just allowing him to see, shoot, and move. So, JJ puts the last of his suit's energy into his cannon, and fires one surprisingly large and fast bolt of plasma at Zane. JJ's armor then falls from him, leaving him with nothing but a sword, shield, bow, and some chain mail. A red aura now pretty well known to be Rage starts to glow around JJ, but doesn't take form. JJ runs up the tower with his shield up, and is once again upon Zane. However, his sword still isn't out of its sheathe.

An inferno erupts from JJ's armor, reducing it to ash, good thing he wasn't wearing it when the thermal bomb went off. Zane jumps out of his armor, letting it take the blast as he lands behind him. The armor dematerializes back into data which flows into Zane's belt. "Well that wasn't very nice, I just had that fixed!" A faint glow starts to envelop Zane, and his hair starting to turn silver.

"What, do you want a heartfelt apology and a hug?" JJ catches up to Zane, now within slashing range. He grabs his sword, and presses a small red button on top of his sheathe. A small explosion, and then his sword flies out at an incredible speed. Using the momentum, he slashes for Zane's torso. Luckily for Zane, JJ isn't in his suit, or this could do a lot more damage.

A glow appears around both of Zane's arms as he deflects the sword. Black and silver gauntlets cover his arms, and he ducks low, claws piping out where his knuckles would be as he goes to slash at JJ's chest. "Well a cookie would be better."

JJ continues his slash into a spin, and swings his sword back around to deflect the claw. "Aw, well that's too bad. I don't have an Easybake Oven on me." JJ then shieldbashes Zane, and then attempts to stab him in the chest while his guard's open.

He staggers backwards, but recovers quickly and blocks with his left hand, striking JJ's face with his right. "I'm sure you'll find something, to make with."

JJ leans backwards from the blow, narrowly avoiding it. He then bats away the arm that just attacked with his shield, and attempts to attack the arm that blocked his sword by chopping at its elbow.

He sidesteps the attack, kicking away JJ then jumps forward and sweep kicks him to the ground, going to punch his face but stopping, extending the claws and drawing blood.

During all of this, JJ's shield falls off of the stairs and clatters to the ground below. Whenever Zane completes his attack, JJ lashes out with his now free hand, and grabs the arm that just drew blood. He then angles his sword upward, and stabs for Zane's armpit. Regardless of rather or not the attack succeeded, JJ pushes Zane off afterwards, and he stands back up. By this point, Rage and Despair have nearly formed. It seems like they'll be ready within a few seconds.

He jumps back, his aura forming around him as he enters redemption, his hair turning silver to complete the transformation. He cracks his knuckles as he jumps forward, stopping short and creating a wave of force that pushes JJ back.

JJ stumbles backwards as Rage and Despair form, catching himself on the wall. "Alright, C'mere!" JJ then runs toward Zane, sword ready to strike. However, he throws his sword over Zane's head, sticking it into the wall behind him. Once he's upon Zane, he delivers a punch to the gut, followed by a shove.

He slaps the punch away as he grabs JJ and flips him, throwing him over next to his blade and slams his hand onto the ground, creating a shockwave that slams into JJ.

JJ somewhat catches himself from landing on his head with his arms, and is then blown into the wall by the shockwave. He then gets to his feet quickly, grabbing his sword. "Can you knock that off, it's sorta aggravating." Realizing he's on the upper end of the stairs now, JJ bolts, leaving his sword in the wall. They should be on around the 6th story by this point.

He sends a blast of aura in front of JJ to slow him down as he runs to catch up, slashing at his back.
