"Oh, trust me, I'm really rusty. Been like... Twenty years since I've actually been on a date. You've probably had a date more recently than I have."

"Been twenty years for me, too, actually. Haven't really had the time for dates after I joined the military. Guess we'll both have to shake off our rust, hmm? It'll be fun." [i]He kept his smile, genuinely being happy as well. He didn't really expect Keri to say yes, to be completely truthful. A soft chuckle left Luke's lips, before he spoke again, [/i] "I know a cozy café in Dojoville.. Though, we could visit one in your hometown, Cedyetica? You said you had the entire city stored."

"I do, but it would take an hour for it to boot up. Let's just go down to that cafe. Sounds nice." [b]She was ecstatic. She couldn't wait to actually get back into dating someone... It has been so long...[/b]

"Very fun, and I don't doubt that your presence will make it better." [i]Luke slowly blinked as he tried to locate the way to the gate. He was at the simulation place, so he'd have to head.. Eh, he was sure he'd figure it out along the way - he did walk the path in the past, after all. [/i] "Shall we, then?"

"We shall." [b]Keri said this gently, and with a huge smile. So far, Lucas was a great guy. This was definitely one of the better days she'd had at the Dojo. She lead him out of the alley, and down the street, over to the exit.[/b] "Lead the way, half-metal man."

[i]Lucky Luke (yes, that is his actual nickname) softly chuckled at the 'half-metal man', though it definitely wasn't untrue, with his metal legs, arms, ribs. Hell, even his lungs and heart were replaced by cybernetics. He definitely was more metal than.. flesh. [/i] "I will," [i]He said, smiling still as he somewhat shyly extended his left hand at Keri. Seemed the cyborg wanted to.. hold hands. [/i]

[b]Keri slowly took his hand. She was glad he was like this. This kind of behavior was... Welcome, to say the least. With every passing second, she was liking him more and more. She already liked him a lot at this point.[/b]

[i]Luke's hand was surprisingly warm to the touch as he gently held Keri's, the inner machinery radiating heat. It wasn't too hot, nor too cold. Just right, truthfully. [/i] "Let's go," [i]He softly said, more to himself than to Keri. He then spoke up, now less talkative to himself, and more to the cowboy, [/i] "Would you like to go get some coffee or something first? We've got a Starbucks."

[b]She gave his hand a small squeeze, if he could even feel it. She wasn't really sure. She wasn't really sure if he could actually feel anything through his hands. She hoped he did.[/b]

[spoiler]Whoops. ;~;[/spoiler] [i]Lucas make certainly did feel it, his smile widening a little while he softly returned the squeeze. He then started leading to way, walking at a relaxed and comfortable pace. He was having fun. [/i] "Know what you're going to order?" [i]Luke asked with genuine curiosity in his voice upon entering the courtyard, hazel brown eyes going from Keri to the large Starbucks.[/i] "Think I might go for a cappuccino."

"I really don't know. I'll have to take a look at the menu, I guess. They probably have some sort of special thing going on, seeing as it's getting close to Christmas. Hey, do you celebrate Christmas? I know a few people in the Dojo don't." [b]Whenever he squeezed back, Keri visibly got happier. She forgot just how good it felt to actually have someone by her side, someone to care for, someone to care about her. It was good. It was very good.[/b]

"I celebrate Christmas, yeah. Don't really go the gifts stuff, but my brother and I do spend time with our friends. Eating good food, talking, etcetera. Though, not completely sure if that's how it's going to go this year." [i]He paused as he led Keri to the Starbucks itself, and eventually inside, to the counter, before he spoke again, [/i] "I reckon they have hot chocolate with marshmallows and stuff like that, for Christmas. Though, it's not even been Thanksgiving yet, so who knows. November has yet to pass, after all."

"True, but you know how stuff like this works. People start prepping way before the actual holiday. Works in my favor, really. I start wearing red, heard it's a nice color for me." [b]Once inside Keri looks up at the menu, trying to decide what to get. It was weird, really. Going somewhere with someone and just wanting to be with them... It was still a little strange to her.[/b]

"I wouldn't know, haven't seen red on you yet. Though, your current clothes fit you just fine, to be truthful. Now, not to be rude, but can you read the menu? Don't know if your echolocation can do that. Then again, you also pointed out my metal arms." [i]He shrugged, not knowing all the wonders of echolocation. He knew a lot, though that was all related to technology, more or less. But, then again tech was his specialty. [/i]

"Starbucks always do this weird chalk stuff on their menus, so it stands out just enough for me to read it. Heh. Silly thing is, I haven't actually learned Braille. Need to do that. Anyways, I think I'm just gonna get a... Carmel macchiato? Is that how you say it? And because I can't read, whatever the sizes are, I'm gonna get the smallest one."

"I should learn braille. It always interested me. Oh well. I'll take a medium cappuccino." [i]Soon enough after ordering their drinks, the two were standing back outside of the Starbucks, Luke still holding Keri's hand, remaining somewhat shy with it. In his right hand, he held a cup of coffee, plastic lid on top, and Keri had her coffee as well. Or, whatever a macchiato is. I don't know coffee. And, yes, Lucas did pay for the drinks.[/i] "Hope you enjoy," [i]He said before taking a very small, careful sip of his drink, not minding the heat. [/i]

[b]Keri took a small sip of her drink, tasting it as best as she could, which was hard because it was very hot. She couldn't take heat well, would burn her tongue.[/b] "Hey, how do you drink your coffee like that without burning your tongue? I can't even get down more than a sip without burning my tongue."

"Guess I'm used to it," [i]Luke responded as he popped the little lid off slightly using his right thumb. He then blew into the cup, hoping to cool the coffee down somewhat at least. After a few moments, he took a second, equally careful sip. [/i] "It's still hot to me, though. Bearable, however."

"Heh. I'd bet. Hey, after all this, wanna come with me to grab a hat? I've been looking to complete the cowgirl look for a few weeks, just haven't done it." [b]She takes another sip of her coffee, and burns her tongue. She mutters something under her breath.[/b]

"Oh, sure. I'd love to, if anything." [i]A soft chuckle left Luke when Keri burnt her tongue again, a seemingly amused glint in his eyes. Softly, he squeezed the cowgirl's hand, before taking another sip.[/i] "Want to get going to the café?"

"Sure. Lead the way." [b]She took another sip, waiting for him to start walking. She really liked the guy, so far everything had gone perfectly, like it was planned out of something.[/b]

[i]Luke nodded, before beginning to walk away from the Starbucks, gradually moving towards the gate of the Dojo. After which a few steps would follow, a few streets.. It was somewhat of a ways ahead. Not too far, though. [/i] "You know, Keri.. I'm glad I met you today, truthfully. You're great."

"Likewise, Lucas. You're awesome. I just really hope that whatever we have here doesn't end like last time... My last boyfriend died. Horribly. You won't die on me, will you?" [b]She looks over at him, but her face was still a bright smile.[/b]

[i]He returned the look, also smiling brightly, before speaking nothing other than the truth, [/i] "Die on you? No. I don't plan on it. Quite the opposite, if anything. I plan on living a long life. Though, admittedly, I won't further extend my life with cybernetics. And, I hope you don't die on me either. I like what we have here right now, and I really do hope it won't end any time soon."

"Long as I have my supply of KAP-8, I'll be around for at least sixty more years. And I'm glad I am. Glad you'll be sticking around too. How far we WE from the cafe?"

"At least sixty more years, huh.. Don't think I'll stick around for that long. I'd be ninety-six. A really old man. Though, maybe I can work something out with cybernetics and stuff. And, from the café, we should be quite close."
