[b]Keri saw the movement he made, to look into her eyes. She didn't know why he did it, no one ever really mustered the courage to actually look directly at her eyes, she guessed. It was... Refreshing to see someone do it, to say the least.[/b]

"Courage? It has nothing to do with courage, in all honesty. Looking someone in the eyes - blind or not - is something I was taught to do. Shows respect. And, so far, you have done nothing to prove you're not worthy of respect. And, if it would've offended you, Keri, I'd have stopped." [i]Simple as that, truly. Exactly as he was taught. Plus, Keri was older than him - even if it didn't show - and, well, Luke was also taught to respect his elders.. Though, Luke himself, was decently old himself. It was very hard to position her eyes in a place that she could directly look at something, seeing as she'd never actually used them so far.[/b] "And I have been told my eyes were pretty by only one other person. Thank you. It does wonders for my self-esteem. I would say that you look good or something too, but I can't exactly tell exactly what you look like. That would require me to actually go up to you and feel your face."

"W-Well," [i]Luke muttered softly, somewhat taken aback by Keri's words. He never had a blind person touch his face to see what he looked like, so it certainly would be interesting. Then there was also the fact that he never really had contact with women. There was Mir'ika, but that was nine years ago on the Bloodwrath. Then, recently, there had been Chloanne, but that woman terrified the Russian. [/i] "I mean, it'd certainly be new to me. So, go ahead, I suppose. If you want to, that is. Wouldn't be fair if only one of us got to admire the other, right?" [i]A soft chuckle left Lucas, though that didn't mean he wouldn't let Keri "look" at him in detail. He wouldn't mind, really.[/i]

[b]Keri was surprised. No one had let her do this since she'd lived in Cedyetica. It was meant more as a joke, but it would be good to get a detailed picture of his face.[/b] "Really? Alright. No one has let me do this for a long while." [b]She walks up closed to him, and puts her hands on his cheeks. She very slowly pulls her hands across them, and up to his eyes, them up to his forehead. She then takes her hands down to his chin, and she feels up to his nose, which she glosses over quickly. She then moves over to his ears, and from there she runs her hands through his hair for a moment. After she is done, she takes a step back.[/b] "Well, I can safely say that you are, in fact, handsome. Congratulations."

[i]He sat through the entire touching procedure with patience, finding it somewhat interesting, what Keri was doing. Interesting yet certainly weird. Once she was done, he slowly nodded, hands quickly moving to readjust his hair in case it was messed up. [/i] "Handsome?" [i]Luke asked with a second chuckle, a genuine smile drawing itself on his face, showing a set of white teeth - though his left canine was missing completely, leaving a gap. [/i] "Well, good to know you're not the only good looking person here." [i]He was being playful, not necessarily serious. Though, he had to admit, Keri didn't look all that bad herself. She was pretty. [/i]

[b]Keri's smile grew wider. She hadn't had a compliment like that in a long time, back when she still lived in Cedyetica, from her previous boyfriend, Lance. It had been a long time since she'd actually talked to a person and actually complimented them, too. Didn't happen often.[/b] "Well, thank you. Good to know I've still at least got my looks. Missing a lot of other stuff from what I once had."

"No need to thank me, Keri. I'm just being honest, really. Though, I should thank you, for making an old man feel better about himself. Don't get compliments often." [i]His words were true enough. First woman to compliment Lucas was nine years before he arrived at the Dojo, and the second time it happened was months ago with Chloanne. Luke was one lonely fellow. Preferred to stay out of sight, though, so he didn't mind. [/i]

[b]Keri just about laughed. He was old? She was almost 50! She certainly looked younger than him, but she wasn't actually. She 'looked' him in the eyes.[/b] "You're not an old man. If anyone's old, it's me. I'm almost 50."

[i]Now, Luke didn't laugh, nor did he feel the need to. Instead, he just shrugged while shaking his head, eyes still meeting with those of Keri.[/i] "And how long did you spend in stasis? I don't count those years. To me, you're as old as you look. About thirty, I'd say. I'm the old one here, to be truthful. And, honestly, I don't even mind."

"I mean, it's not like you have any wrinkles or anything on you. You look around 40, sure, but it's not like your hair is turning grey. When it does, that's when you can start calling yourself old. And you don't mind about what? Just looking older? I would hope not. That's how you breed cynicism. And cynicism sucks."

[i]Luke winced at Keri's words. She wasn't angry at him, was she? Annoyed? Either way, he didn't enjoy it one bit - not in the sense that he'd get angry or annoyed.. but rather uncomfortable and somewhat saddened. He was a pacifist and a friendly man, not upsetting people being on his list of things to do on a daily basis. [/i] "R-Right.. S-Sorry." [i]And with those soft-spoken words, he averted his eyes. [/i]

[b]Keri seemed to get slightly worried. Why was he sorry? He hadn't done anything. In fact, she'd done worse than he did. She was kinda a jerk from that lay sentence.[/b] "What are you sorry about? You didn't do anything. I'm not angry. I'm not upset. I'm not sad. You didn't do anything at all."

"Still," [i]He muttered as he shifted uncomfortably. He didn't like it when people even seemed to get upset with him. Made him feel bad. If anything, he was too nice, really. Much too nice. [/i] "A-Anyhow.. Uh.. Well.. Ahem. What now?"

[b]Keri got visibly worried now. What was wrong with him? Did she say or do something wrong?[/b] "Hey, man. You okay? You seem a little... I dunno... Worried or something."

"Oh, no, it's nothing. You just seemed upset. Don't like it when people get upset. Only makes me feel bad about myself. Too nice for my own good." [i]At least Luke's voice wasn't shaking anymore, and he even was talking rapidly again, the words just flying from his mouth. [/i]

"Heh. Yeah. You really are, from this conversation. I like that. Being nice is a real treat to see. Don't see it very often in people."

"I can't be mean. Makes me feel terrible. Hence why I don't want to upset people. Though, like everyone, I do have my breaking point. It's hard to reach, but I have it nevertheless. And, you seem very nice, too."

Once Keri was done talking, he slowly nodded, thinking about her words before finally speaking, [/i] "If you're so shameless and willing to do almost anything, would you want to go out with me?"

He frowned at Keri's comment, about how most guys would've used the opportunity for distasteful things. He didn't like it. But then again, he was one hell of a white knight, wasn't he? His expression cleared soon enough, a grin etching itself on his face as he gave a slow nod. He then spoke up, grin turning into a genuine smile,[/i] "It's a date, then, huh. Might be a tad bit rusty, though. And, I like you too. You're sweet."

"Oh, trust me, I'm really rusty. Been like... Twenty years since I've actually been on a date. You've probably had a date more recently than I have." [b]Her smile went from that if just something gentle to genuine happiness. It really had been a very long time since she had been on a date.[/b]

[i]He kept his smile, genuinely being happy as well. He didn't really expect Keri to say yes, to be completely truthful. A soft chuckle left Luke's lips, before he spoke again, [/i] "I know a cozy café in Dojoville.. Though, we could visit one in your hometown, Cedyetica? You said you had the entire city stored."
