Keri walks towards the Simulation Room, usual get-up. Brown duster, white shirt under it, middlemost button done. Black leggings, brown tennis shoes. Green earrings, strange, because it didn't match her outfit at all. Almost like they weren't supposed to go with the outfit, possibly a different one. She had short, black hair, right around at her ears. Besides her getup, another thing stood out. Her eyes. They were a light, milky brown. She was blind. Strangely, she could navigate perfectly fine. Right over to the room, opening the door, then programming the Sim Room to a location. Familiar to a small select few, unknown by most. She gazed up at the simulated sky, breathing in the air. It was home. Well, the place she came from, not her actual home. Neon lights, skyscrapers, drug dealers on street corners. She smiled. Just like she'd remembered. Of course, she didn't program the whole city to be simulated, just this street and a few alleyways. She walked off the road, over to one of the alleyways, pulling a revolver from her duster, right hand reaching over to her waist. She walked into the alleyway, looking down it. There was two men. She'd loaded the program that had two thugs in this specific alleyway, so she already knew that it was merely a few street toughs, good target practice. Despite being blind, she took aim, nailing one right in the back of the neck, falling down. She knew the second only had a knife, she'd programmed this part of the sim herself, so she holsters her revolver, and pulls a sword from the other side of the duster, a rapier. Only reason she wasn't sparring with a real person was because she only trained with her wooden rapier, a luxury nobody else in the Dojo would bother with. She quickly ran up to the second man, and stabbed him in the right arm, a quick, fast strike. He took a swing. She swung upwards, knocking the knife away. The man got angry. He ran at her, and was met with a blade. Through the chest. She wiped the blood from the blade with the man's shirt, and headed back out to the exit. The one flaw was... She'd left the door open. Anyone could've seen in. She walked out, shutting the door, then looked around for anyone that had seen in, or just someone to talk to.
Open.
Once Keri left the simulation, she saw (or, well, echo locateded? Heard?) someone pass. He, if the person even was a he with their height and all, stood at a simple five feet and seven inches. Short as hell for my standards, as I have a dude who's literally almost nine feet - hell, most of my characters don't even drop below six. Lucas, as he was named, wore a simple, camoflauged T-shirt with quite some a few oil stains in different areas, each of them a different size. His equally camoflauged shorts were also covered in oil. From stains to smears. I dunno why I'm describing this as Keri probably can't hear stains. On Luke's feet were a set of black army boots. The man himself had short, curly dark brown hair atop his head, with somewhat of a grey tint to it, from, well, the grey hairs that he did have. He was decently old, after all. Sure, he considered getting synthetic skin to look young again, but he was didn't necessarily dislike his looks. His hazel brown eyes slowly looked towards Keri, and the simulation thing she had just left.. before he spoke to himself, voice surprisingly young and young sounding, brimming with life, almost, "Ah, from the simulation room, hmm? Have to remind myself that I need to check that out. Interesting technology."

  • Well, Keri certainly could hear the stains, sound waves bouncing off of them differently than the cloth, but maybe it was just a different material in the shirt. She was also decently old, 49, actually. Interesting thing was, she looked around her late-twenties. She couldn't tell exactly how old Lucas was, but she could tell he was an adult. She walked a little closer to him, clicking her tongue a few times to get a better 'look' at what he looked like. She stopped for a second, then spoke with a smile, both her voice and smile being warm and gentle. "Yes, I would say it is fantastic. Almost like magic. Then again, you could look at science like it was music, though, right? I hear that you've got some synthetic legs and arms. And no that doesn't mean someone told me, I literally heard it. Echolocation works like a charm."

"Not necessarily synthetic," Came Lucas' response, voice louder now that he wasn't talking to himself - though, it still wasn't all that. He was calm, collected.. Though he did talk rather speedily, too, without stumbling over his words. "More cybernetic. Not necessarily helpful in combat, however, as they are made from weaker materials, such as carbon fiber. Not meant for combat, though I won't necessarily stay away from it. And, I've seen enough magic back on the Bloodwrath. Daemons and huge, iron clad warriors. Gods and goddesses, like Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, Tzeentch. Sure, technically they weren't godly, but rather just very powerful Daemons." When he spoke about the Bloodwrath, Luke couldn't help but shudder as a shiver ran down his spine. That Daemon infested death ship definitely was far from pleasant.

  • Keri looked very confused. She knew about a few of those gods, JT had mentioned them from time to time, but that didn't change that she only knew who Slaneesh and Nurgle were. Sex and disease, respectively. She looked over at him, very confused. "What did you just say? I don't know who have those things are. Know what Slaneesh and Nurgle are, but that's about it... And are you okay? You shook when you mentioned them..."

"Okay?" Luke slowly asked, before he shook his head just as slowly. He remained silent for a few moments, before speaking up once again, still talking rather speedily, "Not okay, no. The Bloodwrath was a terrible experience for me. Sure, Jason had the time of a lifetime there, killing stuff and things.. but? Not as much. Death lurked in every inch of that place. Not to mention how horrifying the inhabitants were. How lethal, too." The Russian went silent once more, thinking for a moment, before continuing, "There was Chaos, Daemons, etcetera. Hell, even the supposed 'good guys' of the Imperium weren't all that good. Militaristic xenophobes. Say you don't agree with their views, or that their supposed 'God-Emperor' isn't anything other than a corpse of life support, and you get murdered by the overzealous Adeptus Astartes, for example. Hell, Ling was the only cool Imperial I met there."

  • "I... Uh... The most I know about that stuff is what Slaneesh and Nurgle do, and I only know that from a friend... And if it was horrible, and you feel bad about that stuff, you don't have to talk about it. I'm not forcing you." Keri seemed worried, like she'd actually cared about his well-being. While that was true, it was also true she cared for everyone else's well-being as well.

Luke then realized just how rude he must've been. Talking about something that his conversation partner didn't even know much about. He really did feel.. bad, ashamed, for assuming someone just.. knew what he was talking about. "Ah, alright. Sorry, must seem like I'm just rambling at this point. Rambling about something you don't even know about. Forgive me for my rudeness, I just tend to get carried away. But, basically, Bloodwrath was a bad place with many bad things. Not a fan of talking about it, no, so I'll just stop."

  • "Why should you be sorry? You had to go through all that stuff. Worst I've had to go through is a bullet to the left leg. I tend to kill people before they kill me. It's not that hard, especially when I can pretty much just cheat." She was still worried, but not as much now. She just hated seeing other people like that. It didn't mess with her, more just made her feel bad.

"I'm sorry for rambling," He said in response, eyes slowly looking up at the sky. Luke loved the sky, admired it. The sun, the clouds.. Not as a hippy, no, but more in the way that he found it pretty. Nice to look at. "Anyhow, I'm Lucas." His eyes came back down, looking into those of Keri - unless she looked away - while he came close enough to shake hands, right hand extended. She should see, right..? She knew of his arms, after all. "Sorry if this is rude, but, can you see? Your eyes are milky, so I assume you can't, but you did notice my arms before. Or, is it something else entirely.. Echolocation, perhaps? But that takes years to learn, and you don't look old. Though, it is possible you have been blind for a long time."

  • "Ah. Yeah, I'm blind. Have been my whole life. All 49 years of it. And I know I look very young for my age, cryo works wonders. Yeah, I do use echolocation. Most people don't put that with me being blind and being able to see."

"Forty-nine, eh? Wouldn't have guessed, honestly. I'm thirty-six, though with me it's the opposite, in he way that I look older than I am. People have mistaken me for forty to forty-five. Stress works wonders for the human body, really." Luke went silent, letting his right arm fall limply to his side, right back where it was before. "Anyhow.. What's your name, if I may ask? Don't believe you've told me, though that could be my memory being bad."

  • "Name's Keri. Just Keri. I don't like to remember my last name... Reminds me of my parents. They left me on the streets when I was born. I was raised in the streets by a more peaceful gang. They tended to not murder people for cash. Nice guys."

"I'm glad I had nice parents, honestly. Though, my father did force me to go military school at sixteen. Same year I fought in my first war. Sure, it only lasted for a year after I joined, but nevertheless. Then, when I was twenty-one, I was sent off to my second war. No living on the streets, though. No gangs, either."

"Cedyetica? Sounds somewhat Russian. To my, anyway. Must've been an interesting place to live. I never had any situations with drug deals and the like - though I have done them, believe it or not. The drugs. Not the deals. Back in highschool. That's why I was sent off to military school. Because of my drug and alcohol problems."

At this point, Luke got just a tad bit ashamed, eyes averting even though there was no real eye contact anyway. He didn't enjoy talking about his problems, though he was proud he got over his drug addiction. Still addicted to alcohol, though. "Cocaine, heroine, weed. Smoked it, snorted it, injected it."

  • "Ah. Hey man, at least you got over that stuff. All that matters. If I wasn't a Psion, I wouldn't use KAP-8 at all. Besides that, got a bit of an alcohol problem. Whiskey, mostly, sometimes vodka. And a little absinthe if I really wanna get trashed. Strong stuff."

"Ah," He replied, looking back into Keri's eyes. He didn't know why he did it, he just felt like it was.. respectful. He was raised that way, taught to respect people into they proved unworthy of your respect. "Well, I'm into anything alcoholic, really."

  • Keri saw the movement he made, to look into her eyes. She didn't know why he did it, no one ever really mustered the courage to actually look directly at her eyes, she guessed. It was... Refreshing to see someone do it, to say the least. "You're looking into my eyes. Heh. Usually people don't do that, think I'm gonna get offended or something. I'll have to commend you for that. Takes a certain type of person to muster the courage."

"Courage? It has nothing to do with courage, in all honesty. Looking someone in the eyes - blind or not - is something I was taught to do. Shows respect. And, so far, you have done nothing to prove you're not worthy of respect. And, if it would've offended you, Keri, I'd have stopped." Simple as that, truly. Exactly as he was taught. Plus, Keri was older than him - even if it didn't show - and, well, Luke was also taught to respect his elders.. Though, Luke himself, was decently old himself. "Plus, I have to admit, your eyes are pretty. Strange, yet pretty."

  • "Respect? Sorry... It's just that where I come from, you didn't have to be respected. At all. You got respect when you killed your first man. Crappy place, those old streets. I have the entire city in a program, actually. Might do me some good to boot it up again some day. Maybe not." Keri looked back into his eyes as well... Well, as best she could. It was very hard to position her eyes in a place that she could directly look at something, seeing as she'd never actually used them so far. "And I have been told my eyes were pretty by only one other person. Thank you. It does wonders for my self-esteem. I would say that you look good or something too, but I can't exactly tell exactly what you look like. That would require me to actually go up to you and feel your face."

"W-Well," Luke muttered softly, somewhat taken aback by Keri's words. He never had a blind person touch his face to see what he looked like, so it certainly would be interesting. Then there was also the fact that he never really had contact with women. There was Mir'ika, but that was nine years ago on the Bloodwrath. Then, recently, there had been Chloanne, but that woman terrified the Russian. "I mean, it'd certainly be new to me. So, go ahead, I suppose. If you want to, that is. Wouldn't be fair if only one of us got to admire the other, right?" A soft chuckle left Lucas, though that didn't mean he wouldn't let Keri "look" at him in detail. He wouldn't mind, really.

  • Keri was surprised. No one had let her do this since she'd lived in Cedyetica. It was meant more as a joke, but it would be good to get a detailed picture of his face. "Really? Alright. No one has let me do this for a long while." She walks up closed to him, and puts her hands on his cheeks. She very slowly pulls her hands across them, and up to his eyes, them up to his forehead. She then takes her hands down to his chin, and she feels up to his nose, which she glosses over quickly. She then moves over to his ears, and from there she runs her hands through his hair for a moment. After she is done, she takes a step back. "Well, I can safely say that you are, in fact, handsome. Congratulations."

He sat through the entire touching procedure with patience, finding it somewhat interesting, what Keri was doing. Interesting yet certainly weird. Once she was done, he slowly nodded, hands quickly moving to readjust his hair in case it was messed up. "Handsome?" Luke asked with a second chuckle, a genuine smile drawing itself on his face, showing a set of white teeth - though his left canine was missing completely, leaving a gap. "Well, good to know you're not the only good looking person here." He was being playful, not necessarily serious. Though, he had to admit, Keri didn't look all that bad herself. She was pretty.
