You know what Destiny needs? Two new factions. One called "Lost Souls", the other "Mal Fisto". They compete directly against one another, but only in the forums. You can rank up by writing the cleverest insults to your opposing clan. Of course there should be a side quest for gear called "Flip". This is where your combat skills seem to be pointed toward an enemy, then you suddenly flip 180 degrees and your enemy becomes your object of worship. In reality it's a Ponzi game, where the winning clan contains the most sycophantic zealot members ready to defend the clan leader to the death regardless of the irrationality of the leader's combat.
