Is Renegades worth it?

I want to support Destiny 2 but my advice is to wait for the discount potentially offered after June 9. I see renegades like this (trying to account for me vs general perception): [b]Campaign[/b] >> me (when is it over), others (ok) [b]Praxic Blade[/b] >> me (ok.. can see its neat), others (fully in love) [b]Lawless Frontier/Factions[/b] >> me (fun sometimes, I have no idea what to do sometimes), others (I be farming) [b]Equilibrium[/b] >> me (solo'd 1st encounter but too tedious), others (yes of value) [b]Heat Weapons[/b] >> me (very high value, very interesting new style weapon, I refrain from using sometimes in casual PVP because they are very very strong), others (good maybe p2w) [b]Resources[/b] >> me/others (aha this is cool.. I earn credits can get resources/weapons..even from dismantling) [b]Tharsis Outpost/Environs[/b] >> me (very nice place) [b]Overall[/b] - I did not rush to play it and I just haven't dived that far into it but theoretically I see it being of high value in the next phase of the game.. it will have unique weapons/armor and activities and can be used to farm resources. And I am happy that I got it. If your focus is PVP (and like weapon testing) I would 100% get it (waiting for discount) due to the cool weapons... PVE folks... I think they like it farming lawless and equilibrium.. -
I got it for $17 last week on psn, pretty cheap. I think steam sales might be from the 9th, maybe a good deal then.

2 RepliesEquilibrium has some pretty good weapons. I love Star Wars, but found the whole lightsaber thing very cringy. Tharais and the bounties etc. is pretty cool.

13 RepliesOut of all the expansions, renegades is actually one of the really good ones. Especially when you get the praxic blade, your whole experience is you being a jedi and it’s freaking awesome having infinite ammo and slicing through armies. Not to mention the chicken looking tanks, those are really fun to use and even better after being upgraded. I highly recommend it. The only downside is the repetitive mode you are forced to do while in the story, it’s a lot to be desired for but the expansion itself is actually really good. The new heat weapons are awesome too. Very stable, high damage and the dungeon is fun as well. It’s not perfect but it’s better than anything we’ve had in years. Thats just my opinion though, some people just hate to hate on destiny.

Campaigns good lawless frontier was alright equilibrium is good, lots of decent weapons, if you like destiny you'll like renegades.

I'd say so. Pretty good campaign, good exotics, great dungeon. The dungeon is a bit easy, but still a fun time and has some good weapons. I haven't messed with the lawless frontier a lot but it was interesting.

1 ReplyI really enjoyed Renegades. Particularly the dungeon which has good replayability when farming for the gear. Praxic Blade is a great weapon. IMO it was a very good DLC. Worth getting.

Don't buy anything, i wouldn't be surprised if bungie got shut down this year, spend your money on something else, bungie, doesn't deserve to be in business, i most of spent hundreds if not over a £1000, on destiny, since 2014, and bungie after saying this is what the road map is this year, only for them, to shut down anymore updates, total lies.

Campaign - OK, not great, just OK Praxic blade - fantastic Dungeon - fair, but repetitive Lawless frontier - awful!, unless of course you like grinding the same 3 activities over and over and over on 6 different maps General portal, not much change, portal is still sucky portal. I would not recommend, wait till it all goes free to play or is for sale on the real cheap. I would just avoid it and play what is free in a week if you want to play D2.

It’s a mixed bag for sure: I’m not a fan of the star wars crossover at all, but the praxic blade was a blast. Not so much next Tuesday I guess. Dungeon was fun the few times we tried it and the exotic quest was good imo. Lawless Frontier was beyond tedious. It’s the first full-price I’ve paid for anything in about 3 years and I feel I did get my money’s worth out of it. If it’s on sale, why not?!

If you like Star Wars. It's fairly average otherwise IMO. You got the frontier "hoard mode" that'sbasically bounties that mimic what Helldivers has done, this was basically Destinys answer to this with new perk abilities. A solid B.
