I just want to say, I hate marathon with passion. BUT Destiny was dying a slow death, every dlc less players, less retention and even if bungie only focused on destiny, it would have died eventually. Very very few games have survived time as well as destiny has But destiny was inevitably going to die eventually. The relationship between bungie, destiny and marathon is similar to a patient with progressive cancer And what I mean is, destiny is the patient, bungie is the parent and marathon is the treatment Destiny was dying a slow death and bungie was faced with a choice, operate now and maybe save the patient or do nothing and we would have destiny for a few more years. The treatment, marathon. If marathon succeeded, it could have generated enough revenue to rejuvenate bungie to a healthy state. But it unfortunately failed. The idea was good enough, at the time of its announcement on console at least our opinions of extraction shooters weren't educated, we had a couple but not really. But unfortunately arc raiders set a bar to high and bungie constantly putting the FU in fun left sour tastes in our mouth and we felt destiny was being left behind. So now we're faced with the death of our beloved game, whom we never actually hated, we hated bungies nerfs, streamers and somethings didn't hit as well as we hoped like curse of Osiris and lightfall. But this community has been amazing. I personally have traveled across north America from Canada and to the USA to visit people I met on destiny, we Doordashed food to each other, met for weddings and graduations, I've watched my friends kids grow up in the background It's been a amazing time I've had with destiny and it's community So I guess this is a love letter of sorts, I hope bungies management ends up on welfare, but I thank the hard working developers for creating this game and introducing me to so many great people. Don't be sad that it's over, be happy that it happened
