Starshine left him before she died. Said she didn't love him anymore. That one almost broke him. Then Sundance and Cayde fell. Felt like the reaper was finally cheating him for a change. Out there in the void, he thought he could run away. He found something. Something deeper. Something darker. Something far older. Older than the worm gods. The smokey ramen bar was playing something classical on the jukebox. The Samurai Cowboys raised their tumblers. De knew he had to warn them. He blinked his ghost back toward the Milky Way with a mighty throw. I think his last words were please survive, Little Light. Thank you. Then he turned as the void kissed him and embraced the Praxic Fire. It was all hazy for a while, but I could've sworn I saw Ace before I was reborn. Said Cayde will pay me back. If DeCarabas hadn't done that, I wouldn't be here with my brothers and sisters. What I saw out there will never stop. I just hope we don't ever run out of spirits. Cowboys forever. -Madmartigan VII
