just ranting: worst multiplayer experience I've ever had in my life

Multiplayer is so terrible for anybody who is not insanely good. Everyone carries handguns and can get headshots over and over with them. Try to get in close and they all have shotguns that instantly kill you. Everybody seems to know the maps and because of the radar you can never sneak up on anyone to even have a half chance of winning a fight. I get that PVP is way more fast paced than PVE but for someone that wants to try it out I am heavily punished every time. There IS no learning curve because I don't get the chance to improve against equal-skilled opponents. Does bungie not see my .33 kda EVERY single game? Do they not have the ability to put me with other less skilled gamers???? It is impossible to get better when the skill gap is so atrociously large and I always end up fighting the same players game after game. I cannot fathom how the company that created one of the greatest multiplayer experiences in history from Halo 2 can create such an awful environment for new players.

  • There are a lot of hardened vets here with up to 10 years jump on you. You also don't show any knowledge or appreciation for all of the history bringing this PvP to where it is. If you truly want to improve you're gonna have to go from the ground up. It's going to take time and effort. I get the impression you don't have the patience for it. The good news is - this is a great time to be a new player. You're not alone, and there will be more after June 6. Even returning players have to adjust and ask questions here. The gunplay is top shelf. Try starting with this - queue private match, alone, set the timer for 20 minutes or more for each map and learn. Look up every tutorial you can find and learn. In my opinion the best work True Vanguard did was via his fundamentals tutorials....map knowledge, shooting from the strong side of cover, movement, closing / creating space, use of cover, crossing doorways and open ground, inside out / outside in map usage, sniper school.....the list goes on. I highly recommend. Make these basics your habit while you sort through loadouts and builds that suit you. There's no shortage of sources to look up. Like everything else in life, 30 days minimum to break / learn new habit. But you'll improve along the way. Record your matches. When you review be honest with yourself. What new habits did you / did you not follow. How did you get outplayed & what worked when you won an exchange. Play to what you find your strengths and weaknesses are. Be more concerned with mastering weapons you're comfortable with while you get into the game.....there are plenty of viable options. Always consider the part of the field you'll be playing (CQ, mid ground, ranged). Give yourself a chance. Stick with it.

  • First mistake is your on steam and at the dead end of a season. Low player population makes for more CBMM style games to make matchmaking fast. You should get friends and play privates.

  • Have you tried getting a group together and practicing in a private match to get acclimated to the maps?

  • I mean... correct me if I'm wrong. You have 5 hours of Crucible gameplay on record. Even with your kd in sbmm matches you run into players with simply 100x your hours and experience. If u wanna get good it's going to take some effort especially with how old destiny is. I don't want to invalidate your claims because I agree that bungie can not make a solid pvp environment for everyone. And they have a lot of bad choices on record. The only thing that's going to tackle instant kill shotgunners and solid handcannon shots is by becoming better and faster than them. And there's a million other factors I could write about but don't want to.
