An artist, @YousefIdris17, wanted to make a piece dedicated to the Pantheon. Of course, with everyone on Twitter outraged and suspicious over AI art, he was immediately accused of using AI in his piece.

I witnessed thousands of people attack this person over what I believe to be legitimate work. No one believed this person and continually posted, bullied and harassed him until he felt forced to upload the image file with a time lapse.

This did not settle any doubt. In fact, this further caused him to get bullied and harassed online.
Even though any average person would have closed their accounts for good, he posted the actual PSD file with all the working layers in tact, to prove his innocence. He felt pressured to do this as so many people called him a liar and a cheat.

After posting his working art file, people eventually believed him but not after the damage has already been done.
I understand AI art is bad, and I agree, but we need to do better as a community. We have no business being nasty to others EVEN IF the art was made with AI. I hope we can learn from this and be more supportive of others. I also hope the "leaders" in the community will understand that their words have power and they should withhold judgement until there is no doubt about any issue going forward.
I know this post won't serve much, but if it can raise awareness on these issues and the importance of trust-but-verify mentality, it served well.
