It shouldn't be a static roll. We should be able to pick and choose the perks we want on the sunset weapons.
Bungie may not know which weapons we had, but WE know. Let US fix it ourselves.
Bungie should enable us to craft the sunset weapons exactly as they were on release, not a modified "new" version

No… I don’t think bungie should hand out 500 weapon patterns and let us make our own godrolls for free. And once again, they would have a month to implement this? It’s not happening. The most we can ask for is for them to remove the ‘random rolls can’t be pulled from collection’ on all legacy gear
-
Regardless of the effort involved to implement, this is the only way I could think of to appease the playerbase and make up for Bungie essentially breaking their word. Giving us curated rolls is not good enough. What is wrong with giving everyone god-roll versions of sunset weapons? Supposedly, the sunset versions are worse than the new versions, so why does it matter? The sunset versions won't be broken, and if they are, then it only makes sense to give everyone access.

I think anyone saying the guns will be worse have no idea what they are talking about. All the old weapons are subject to the exact same buffs and nerfs that all the weapons in their archetype were subject to. I daresay if we aren’t given at least a curated roll system we will run into a situation where unobtainable guns will be meta and that’ll really screw with pvp and pve alike. It’s going to take a long time for bungie to make new perk pools. I think maybe in the future we may see crafted versions. At the moment though the most that can be reasonably asked without drawing resources from TFS is allowing these weapons to be drawn from collections with curated rolls.
-
You identified the problem yourself! IF the weapons are broken, then players who have the perfect roll will have a significant advantage over others. That's not balanced. It's better to give everyone access to the same weapons.
-
Yes but there is no feasible way for bungie to do that before the final shape. At least giving access to having a decent version of that weapon to all people who previously obtained that weapon.
-
How do you know "there is no feasible way of doing this"?
-
Because your asking bungie to do this without taking into account the development schedule for final shape. You want them to somehow, in a month, while still trying to make TFS, go and make 500 different perk pools and then implement them into weapon crafting. Maybe they could do it if they delayed TFS a few months but that’s pretty much the only scenario they could.
-
The weapons and their perks are already defined. They need to add them to the crafting table. That doesn't seem challenging to me. Either way, it's what SHOULD be done
-
That’s fair and it’s what should be done. However we need something that will be done. Making things pullable from collections is very quick and simple to be done. This whole crafting thing isn’t.
-
We are in agreement, then. I agree that the collections thing you're talking about is an easier solution, but I don't think it goes far enough. Bungie should implement a system similar to the one I described, but they may not have the resources to complete it before TFS releases.
-
Oh yeah absolutely. I’m all for holding my bungie to higher standards but at this point the final shape looks decent and I think they at least just need to do the minimum here to not have some sort of meta crisis or to at least minimise one. Your a lot more reasonable than that other guy who is arguing that they couldn’t just easily make stuff from collections attainable.

Making way too much sense for this forum.
