They can’t and they already stated it in the TWID.
What you have is it bro.
New versions are absurdly more powerful.
I saved my favorite weapons and while they are sentimental to me, they pale in comparison to new weapons.

Damn, you didn't read the post.
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 4/26/2024 4:22:50 PMI did read it. They can’t implement something that complicated for that many weapons in a month. It’s absurd to even suggest it as it’s a feasible thing a month away from the biggest DLC in the history of Destiny.
-
bro, I think you still don't understand what OP is saying, the weapons are all already in collections but can't be claimed because of "random rolls". So OP is suggesting that bungie let everyone be able to their sunset weapons but with a static roll.
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 4/26/2024 7:57:15 PMlol you guys act as if they can flick a switch and it works the way you want it. It simply doesn’t and they would have to pull resources away from FS (which launches in a month) to do it. Maybe they plan on doing that already but it sounded like it’s something they’re doing out of necessity on their end. The weapons will all come back as reprised versions regardless. I’m glad I chose to save my favorites.
-
They can pretty much just flick a switch. All it’d take is switching the database or variable (I don’t know how collections is coded but in all likelihood it’s one of these) to allow weapons with randomised rolls to be drawn from collections.
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 4/26/2024 9:20:31 PMWhat major gaming company do you work for? What game have you developed. No it’s not as easy as flicking a switch. That’s absurd.
-
I have a GCSE in Computer programming and 2 university module completions in both modelling code and programming.
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 4/26/2024 9:23:09 PMWhat major gaming company do you work for and what AAA game are you part of developing? A GSCE is the equivalent of a HS diploma. I’ll wait…
-
I don’t work for any game company. I don’t have to know how code works??? Like that’s like saying oh your a medical degree What major disease are you working on curing? You don’t need to be employed in the position to be able to construct an educated response on how said thing works. Someone with a medical degree doesn’t suddenly not understand how the average human body functions just cause they aren’t practicing.
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 4/26/2024 9:29:02 PMYou’re comparing the equivalent of a 2 year vocational certification in HS to a PhD? Good lord.
-
You seem to just have no want to have a reasoned discussion. Your debating everything and frankly it’s exhausting with no actual legitimate point. I’m saying the situations are equivalent not that the degrees are. I’m saying that I don’t need to be working for a triple A company to understand how coding works.
-
No there’s no reason when a person who has zero personal experience and very little education involved with a subject wants to argue a point. I’ll take the word of people who do have that education and experience, when they say it’s not as easy as flicking a switch. Just because you want something to be true, it doesn’t make it true.
-
That’s what your doing, I do have the education. You are saying you will only listen to someone who tells you that it’s not as easy as flicking a switch. It will work almost indentically to how they disable weapons and armour already! They can do that on a dime when something is broken. It will work the same. If you don’t want to listen and be contentious for the point of being a troll then do that with someone else.
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 4/26/2024 10:25:50 PMDude you are the equivalent of kid who did electrical in HS. You have never worked on a game let alone a AAA game. You don’t work developing games or software. You have no experience with their Tiger Engine. You have idea what Bungies resources are occupied with,a month before the biggest DLC they’ve ever dropped. And you continue to say it’s as easy as flicking a switch. Sorry but you sound clueless. You think you know, but you just don’t know.
-
Whatever. I’m done here. I don’t need to waste my evening debating with some new light that doesn’t know what he is talking about
-
Sounds good to me. I kept my best rolls so I can’t wait to bust out my Kindled Orchids. Kill clip/rampage and explosive payload/surrounded will be fun. Enjoy your weekend.
-
You still don't understand lol
-
For the old sunset weapons, if we have it unlocked in collections we should be able to craft it. There has been so much power creep that none of those old weapons will really be META, but we could have fun with them and their niche perk/elemental options. I dont think I would grind for any of them regardless of how much I miss some of them. Its more about nostalgia and the era in which the weapon was issued, or never getting the exact rolls that I wanted on some seasonal weapons (so deleting all variants once sunsetting occurred) than actual weapon performance.
-
No they didn’t? They said they couldn’t make it so we could undismantle old loot. Nothing about finding a way to pull it from collections. The biggest issue is if something becomes meta but is unobtainable.
-
The TWID does say they plan to make sunset items available to obtain again.
-
I know but it takes bungie a season to give out just 8 reprised weapons. They need to do about 500
-
Well that will give Onslaught an endless weapon pool.
-
What I’m saying is they will never add all the guns back. I highly doubt the loot pool can handle one that is that large, in a addition bungie doesn’t like over inflating individual loot pools.
-
I guess time will tell.
-
True. I guess none of the sunset weapons interest me, because all my current weapons are way better. I'll maybe try the Oxygen S12? scout rifle, but only try it once and toss it in the back and never use it again. Yeah, sunsetting made me angry, but unsunsetting means nothing (to me anyway).
