Because they got an overwhelming amount of feedback from the people that hated it. When big changes like that happen the people who like it are usually too busy enjoying it to give their positive feedback, so all the feedback they see is from the people who absolutely hate it. This is a consistent problem that the destiny community has had where we don't let them know that we like something until it's too late, but the people who hate that thing are very vocal about how much they want it removed.

It spiraled from there I think - when they brought in the transmat system. It seemed like they sort of sprung it on the community by making it crucible wide, and that made me feel bad in of itself, then it was all unbalanced at first to boot. A fair amount of people stopped playing then probably, but I stuck it out, it got better and I got used to it. Then they added crates and I feel like I can't or don't want to do this anymore. More people leaving because of this, and now the population is so low it's almost impossible to play. All they had to do was keep transmat just in trials and comp. Let casual playlists keep their special ammo drops all over the place - I would enjoy being able to just let loose in 6s like that, but be more strategic in the end-game pvp (with transmat not crates lol)
